About this tool
Calculate the Margin Required for Your Trade
The Forex Margin Calculator estimates how much account equity may be required to
open a leveraged forex position. Enter your instrument, trade
size, leverage, current market price, contract size, and account currency to receive
an instant margin estimate.
How Margin Is Calculated
The calculator first determines the total position value and divides it by the
selected leverage. When the quote currency differs from your account currency,
the result is converted using the rate you provide.
Required margin = Position value ÷ Leverage × Currency conversion rate

Why Use a Forex Margin Calculator?
Understanding required margin can help traders plan position sizes and see how
leverage affects the capital reserved for a trade. Higher leverage generally
reduces the initial margin requirement but also increases financial risk.
